04 100% FREE CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY (24-HOUR GUARANTEE)
We understand that holiday plans can change unexpectedly. Rhodes Adventures provides one of the most traveler-friendly cancellation guarantees in the Greek tourism sector:
⚡ 24-HOUR FREE CANCELLATION GUARANTEE
Cancellations made 24 hours or more prior to scheduled tour departure:
You receive a 100% FULL REFUND with zero cancellation penalties, administration fees, or deductions. The refund is credited automatically back to the original credit/debit card used for the reservation.
- Late Cancellations (Under 24 Hours): Cancellations submitted less than 24 hours prior to scheduled departure time are non-refundable. At this stage, our fleet vehicles, convoy leaders, climbing instructors, licensed tandem pilots, and morning transfer shuttles have already been rostered and allocated specifically for your booking.

05 WEATHER GUARANTEE & OPERATOR AMENDMENTS (FORCE MAJEURE)
Guest safety is our paramount, non-negotiable priority. Rhodes Adventures operates real-world outdoor expeditions across mountains, forests, cliffs, and coastal zones where conditions are directly influenced by local meteorological factors.
🌤️ 100% WEATHER SAFETY GUARANTEE
If adverse weather (such as high wind gusts unsuitable for tandem paragliding, heavy rainfall, flash flood warnings, or official Greek Civil Protection Category 4/5 wildfire forest closures) makes an activity unsafe:
Rhodes Adventures will promptly notify you and offer you the unconditional choice of:
1. Free Rescheduling: Transferring your booking to another available date during your holiday; OR
2. 100% Immediate Full Refund: Full refund processed directly to your card with zero deduction.
Our lead guides and certified pilots retain sole operational authority to adapt itineraries, adjust trail routes, or substitute specific sightseeing stops during an expedition to circumvent localized road closures, severe heat, or weather fronts while maintaining guest enjoyment and vehicle safety.
06 SELF-DRIVE EXPEDITIONS: DRIVER REQUIREMENTS (JEEP SAFARI & POLARIS)
For our self-driving experiences — including the Self-Drive 4x4 Jeep Safari (Suzuki Jimny) and Polaris RZR Buggy Convoys — Greek traffic law, vehicle fleet insurance underwriters, and EOT licensing frameworks mandate strict driver eligibility criteria:
- Minimum Driver Age: Drivers must be at least 21 years of age on the day of the tour.
- Driving License Requirement: All drivers must hold a valid, full Category B (passenger motor car) driving license held for a minimum of one (1) full year prior to the excursion date. Learner permits, provisional licenses, or photocopies are not accepted.
- Accepted License Formats:
- National driving licenses issued by all European Union (EU) and EEA member states, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the United States, Canada, and Australia are legally valid in Greece.
- Drivers holding licenses from other jurisdictions must carry an accompanying International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside their national license in accordance with Greek Law 4784/2021.
- Official government digital driving license smartphone apps (e.g. Greek Gov.gr Wallet, UK DVLA share code verification) are recognized.
- Mandatory Morning Inspection: All prospective drivers must physically present their valid driving license to their lead guide during the morning convoy check-in before keys are issued.
- Failure to Present Valid License: If a traveler fails to present a valid driving license meeting the criteria above, they will not be permitted to operate a vehicle. If vehicle capacity allows, they may join the expedition as a passenger. No refund will be granted for driver ineligibility discovered on tour morning.
- Non-Driving Participants & Families: Non-drivers and children are warmly welcomed as passengers in our 4-seater Suzuki Jimny Jeeps and Polaris buggies. Minimum age for children in Jeeps is 4 years old.
07 CONVOY DISCIPLINE & FLEET SAFETY REGULATIONS
To ensure high-energy adventure without compromising guest safety, all self-drive expeditions operate in structured convoys led by an experienced Rhodes Adventures lead guide vehicle:
- Follow the Leader: Participants must strictly follow the convoy route designated by the lead guide. Departing from the convoy, attempting unapproved shortcuts, or driving off marked trails into protected Natura 2000 areas is strictly prohibited.
- Convoy Spacing & Speed: Drivers must maintain a safe distance of at least two to three vehicle lengths behind the preceding car at all times. On dusty off-road trails, increase following distance to preserve clear visibility.
- No Reckless Maneuvers: Overtaking other convoy vehicles, intentional drifting, tailgating, sudden aggressive braking, wheel spinning, or racing is strictly forbidden.
- Seatbelts Mandatory: In accordance with the Greek Highway Code (K.O.K.), all occupants must have their seatbelts securely fastened whenever vehicles are in motion. Standing up in vehicles while driving is prohibited.
- Zero Tolerance for Intoxication: Operating any motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or impairing medication is strictly illegal in Greece. Rhodes Adventures enforces an absolute zero-tolerance policy. Any driver exhibiting signs of intoxication will be removed immediately from driving duty with no refund.
08 VEHICLE INSURANCE & DAMAGE RESPONSIBILITY
All vehicles in our fleet are fully registered, mechanically inspected, and covered by compulsory motor insurance in full accordance with Greek and European Union transport directives:
- Insurance Inclusions: Every self-drive tour includes standard Third-Party Motor Liability Insurance covering bodily injury and property damage caused to third parties, as well as passenger liability coverage.
- Driver Financial Liability: Drivers are responsible for operating vehicles with reasonable care and caution. Insurance coverage does not apply, and the driver remains fully personally liable for damage, in any of the following circumstances:
- Operation of the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or narcotics;
- Gross negligence, reckless stunt driving, vehicle racing, or intentional vehicle abuse;
- Willful violations of the Greek Highway Code or deliberate disregard of guide safety instructions;
- Driving across restricted terrain, private agricultural property, sea water, or beaches not authorized by the guide.
- Pre-Tour Vehicle Inspection: Before vehicle handover, the guide and driver conduct a brief walk-around inspection. Any existing cosmetic marks are acknowledged. The driver is responsible for returning the vehicle in the same condition, subject only to normal trail dust and off-road dirt.
09 HIGH-ADRENALINE ACTIVITIES (PARAGLIDING, CLIMBING & HIKING)
Our vertical and aerial adventures offer thrilling experiences in stunning natural environments across Rhodes. Participation requires compliance with specialized safety standards:
A. Tandem Paragliding (Fly Rhodes)
- Certified Tandem Pilots: All tandem flights are piloted by certified, highly experienced paragliding tandem masters holding valid national and international aviation flight ratings.
- Passenger Weight Protocol: For aerodynamic safety, tandem wing loading specifications establish passenger weight parameters (typically between 40 kg and 100 kg). Pilots assess current wind speed, thermals, and wind direction on launch to verify flight eligibility.
- Footwear & Attire: Passengers must wear sturdy, closed-toe sport or hiking shoes (no flip-flops, sandals, or high heels). Comfortable sportswear is required.
- Pilot Authority: The tandem pilot retains absolute discretion regarding flight launch timing, flight path, in-air maneuvers, and landing approach. The passenger must follow all pre-flight launch instructions carefully.
B. Rock Climbing, Rappelling & Mountain Hikes
- Certified Safety Equipment: Rhodes Adventures provides professional, CE- and UIAA-certified climbing harnesses, helmets, ropes, dynamic belay devices, and locking carabiners. All gear undergoes routine safety logging.
- Participant Fitness & Health: Rock climbing, via ferrata, and guided hikes require a basic level of mobility and cardiovascular fitness. These activities are not recommended for individuals with severe heart conditions, acute spinal/joint injuries, epilepsy, or pregnant travelers.
- Instructor Safety Directives: Belay commands, rock communication protocol, and equipment adjustment must be strictly followed as instructed by our certified climbing guides.
10 HOTEL PICKUP, SERVICE CORRIDORS & PUNCTUALITY
Rhodes Adventures operates coordinated morning pickup shuttles and vehicle transfers for all scheduled group expeditions:
📍 DESIGNATED COMPLIMENTARY PICKUP CORRIDORS
Complimentary round-trip hotel pickup and return transfer is included for all major resort zones in Northern and Mid-Island Rhodes:
- West Coast: Rhodes Town, Ixia, Ialysos / Trianda, Kremasti, Paradisi, Theologos / Tholos, Soroni, and Fanes.
- East Coast: Rhodes Town, Kallithea, Faliraki, Ladiko, Afandou, and Kolymbia.
- Cruise Ship Arrivals: Direct pickup right outside the main passenger terminal of the Rhodes Tourist Port (Kolona / Commercial Harbor).
⚠️ SOUTHERN RHODES PICKUP NOTICE
Resorts located in Southern Rhodes — including Kiotari, Gennadi, Lardos, Pefkos, Lindos, Lachania, and Prasonisi — are situated outside our standard complimentary transfer shuttle routes due to distance and morning convoy scheduling.
Guests staying in southern areas are welcomed to:
1. Meet at a designated central meeting point along the East Coast (with free guest parking); OR
2. Request a custom private transfer supplement arranged at the time of booking.
- Pickup Coordination: Your exact pickup window (typically a 15-minute slot between 08:00 and 09:30 depending on tour and location) is communicated in advance via your booking voucher and confirmed via WhatsApp / SMS.
- Punctuality & 10-Minute Grace Window: Guests must be waiting at their hotel main lobby or resort security gate 5 minutes prior to the pickup window. Drivers can wait a maximum of 10 minutes past the scheduled pickup time before continuing the transfer route. Transfer shuttles cannot be delayed, as morning convoy briefings and activities operate on strict timetables. Missed pickups resulting from guest lateness are classified as no-shows.
11 PARTICIPANT CODE OF CONDUCT & REFUSAL OF SERVICE
Our excursions bring travelers from all over the world together to enjoy Rhodes' magnificent wilderness. A spirit of mutual respect, safety consciousness, and environmental stewardship is expected of all participants.
- Safety Waiver Execution: All adult participants (and parents/guardians on behalf of minors) must sign our standard Participant Safety & Liability Waiver acknowledging the nature of outdoor expeditions prior to departure.
- Refusal of Service: Rhodes Adventures reserves the absolute right to refuse participation or terminate the tour for any individual whose conduct:
- Endangers the safety, health, or wellbeing of fellow guests, guides, or members of the public;
- Is abusive, harassing, verbally threatening, or physically aggressive toward crew or travelers;
- Evidences intoxication by alcohol, narcotics, or illegal substances;
- Persistently defies lead guide convoy instructions or safety directives.
- "Leave No Trace" Environmental Commitment: Rhodes possesses pristine pine forests, ravines, and wildlife habitats. Discarding litter, collecting protected flora, disturbing wildlife, or smoking outside designated rest stops is strictly forbidden. In the dry summer season, fire safety is strictly enforced.
12 EXPEDITION MEDIA, DRONE FOOTAGE & PRIVACY
During outdoor excursions, our guides and media team frequently capture high-resolution action photographs, convoy driving shots, and aerial drone video highlights.
- Complimentary Guest Keepsakes: Photos and videos are shared with excursion participants as a memorable holiday keepsake.
- Promotional Showcases: From time to time, scenic atmosphere shots, convoy landscapes, or group moments may be featured on our official website or social media channels (@rhodesadventures).
- Your Clear Right to Opt Out: We deeply respect your personal privacy. If you prefer not to appear in tour photography or social media spotlights, simply inform your lead guide during the morning briefing or email us at privacy@rhodesadventures.com at any time. We will immediately honor your request and will blur or delete any identifiable photos upon request.
13 PERSONAL PROPERTY, ELECTRONICS & VALUABLES
Participants are responsible for the care and custody of their personal belongings throughout the excursion:
- Outdoor Exposure: Off-road convoy trails produce airborne dust and sand. Activities like rock climbing and boat tours involve exposure to salt spray, sun, and outdoor terrain.
- Mobile Phones, Cameras & Sunglasses: Rhodes Adventures cannot be held liable for loss, accidental drops, water exposure, dust ingress, or damage to mobile phones, digital cameras, sunglasses, watches, or designer accessories brought on tour.
- Recommended Gear: We strongly advise using protective phone lanyards, waterproof dry pouches, dust-resistant cases, and secure sunglasses retaining straps. Valuables, passports, and large sums of cash are best kept in your hotel safe.
14 GOVERNING LAW, CONSUMER RIGHTS & JURISDICTION
These Terms & Conditions and all contracts for tourism services concluded between Rhodes Adventures and its guests are governed exclusively by the laws of the Hellenic Republic (Greek Law), alongside applicable European Union consumer protection directives.
⚖️ JURISDICTION & DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Competent Courts: Any dispute, controversy, or legal claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms, tour bookings, or excursion execution shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Rhodes, Greece (Δικαστήρια Ρόδου).
EU Online Dispute Resolution: Consumers resident in the European Union may access the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr for out-of-court settlement of contractual disputes.
If any individual provision of these Terms is deemed invalid or unenforceable under Greek or EU law, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
